In this interview, Dr. Zoh speaks with the esteemed Elder Malidoma Patrice Somé, Ph.D., just after the release of his powerful book, Of Water and the Spirit: Ritual, Magic, and Initiation in the Life of an African Shaman. Dr. Somé shares his life story, from being taken from his village and brought to a Jesuit mission school, to his subsequent commitment to upholding and teaching the knowledge and wisdom of the Indigenous Dagara people, with a focus on the crucial importance of ritual, healing through ancestral connection, and community-making.

Happy Holidays to our listeners & supporters. Here’s a 1995 special that appeared on the Evening Show with Zoh Hieronimus.
